I'M PREGNANT!!
I'm going to be a MOM!!
February 26, 2014
It's been awhile since my tummy is aching and whatever I ate, tummy just didn't want them in there. I went to the doctor a week ago and he gave me some tummy medications. It got better but it's still not that great. So I went to the doctor again but this time, my grandmother asked to test my urine for pregnancy. After 5 minutes, the nurse came out and said "congratulations." At that time, I was thinking omg, this is it. I have a baby in the tummy. Although, I wasn't that surprised because I did the test at home myself with my hubby. He suspected because I was craving a LOT of different food, missed my period, sensitive to smells and the list goes on. The test we did at home was positive actually but we weren't sure because there was a solid line and one faint pink line. We didn't tell anyone until the urine test. So, right away, my grandmother made an appointment to a maternity doctor in the same afternoon. After lunch, we went up to the clinic and to confirm whether I am really pregnant, the doctor had a quick ultrasound. She confirmed there's a little peanut in my tummy! Too bad, I didn't take a picture of this peanut.. She said the baby is already 7 weeks, almost 8 weeks and already have heart beat! I can't believe it! We thought that the baby was only a few weeks since I started having headaches, tummy ache, vomiting only a few weeks ago. I am finally becoming a mammy soon. To be honest, I am still not ready. I don't know what to think yet. I am happy though. On the other hand, the fatigue, nausea, headache, dizziness really got me. I wasn't able to work properly. I feel dizzy after shower every time. I am constantly hungry. I can't concentrate at work. I have headache just by looking at the computer for an hour. I am not sure how others can survive through the 3 months. I can't even get out of bed sometimes. The doctor told me I should enjoy these feelings. I do agree in a way, my hubby now takes every good care of me now, better than before. When I almost fainted at the shower this morning, he was there to hold me up, dry me with the towel. I don't know what I am going to do without him. Also, my doggies have been very protective. I am not sure if they sense it also, but both of them are always by my side, looking after me. I am so glad to have this family!

Hey guys. I could finally go to work without having any dizziness or nausea in the morning. *yay* Hubby made me a scramble egg before I left to work. After having a baby, when I am hungry, I NEED to eat right away. There's no way I could wait for another half an hour. I would feel really nausea and dizzy. I guess baby Adrian needs that food in his tummy also (though I am not sure whether the baby's a girl or guy. I feel like it's going to be a little boy) Now that I am pregnant, I am not allowed to have any raw eggs, so hubby cooked the scramble egg well done for me. He also doesn't want me to drive because he's afraid that I might get dizzy while driving.. (very dangerous), so I am banned from driving until after week 12 of pregnancy, which, supposingly, all the feeling of nausea, dizziness, fatigue will go away. I am still very surprised on how these other mammys can survive the 3 months without having any sick leaves! I don't think I can do that. Now, I have to have breakfast everyday to feed my little peanut inside my body, make sure that he/she is healthy and get all the good things he/she needs. Even though at this stage, we are still not sure whether we are able to have this baby. Hubby and I both have this same specific anemia and 1/4 chance of this baby will have both of this genes. If he/she does, the baby will be a no no. On the happy side, we have 3/4 chances. We will be going to Australia for the test at the end of March. We hope it's going to be okay. Right now, I will try my best to eat well and sleep well! King King and Simba have been such a good guardian angel. This morning, King King jumped up to the bed and curled right in front of my tummy, as if he's trying to protect the baby and Simba follows me around. When I took shower this morning, he looked at me the whole time, which he normally doesn't do that. He usually either walked out the bathroom or slept on the floor facing the door. Today, he actually laid down facing the shower! I am so glad to have these 2 angels beside me. I am sure the baby would love to meet both of them!

I have been feeling really sick lately. Dizziness in the morning, nausea, and the list goes on. I wasn't able to work. This morning when I woke up, I felt like I was okay, so I got the shower ready and went to brush my teeth. I felt so sick while brushing my teeth, I had to vomit. (though nothing came out) Then I started to feel very dizzy and sick. I laid down on the bed and told hubby I felt sick. He told me to stay in bed until I got better but I haven't been to work for awhile and felt like I should. So I got up again after 15 minutes, washed my face and put on a little make-up. I think I need to change my morning routine very soon. Shower in the morning isn't doing good to my body at all. I think I might have to leave early to go back home later on. I felt super dizzy and nausea until now. Not a good sign. The craving isn't as bad as before now. However, I still tend to eat quite a lot of meals per day. I cannot eat a LOT each meal, that's probably why I eat a lot of meals a day. I cannot stuff myself with food. My tummy told me to stop after a few bites of food even though she told me she's VERY hungry. Weird isn't it.. Anyway, I think I should get some work done before I feel terrible and have to go home, which, I think it will be soon. ><!

Dizziness is now better, so is the food craving. I feel like a housewife these few days. I have been making different food, healthy chinese soup. I am not sure why but I guess that's what a mommy does. :P I like it though. I made crepe yesterday, nutella banana crepe. It was good, still have room to improve! Anyway, yesterday was hubby's daddy's birthday. We went to eat in Italian restaurant in Taipa, La Cuccina, along with his good friends. He ordered a lot of yummy appetizers but too bad, I wasn't allowed to eat any of it: beef carpaccio, clams, cold cuts.. It was a torture, especially when the waitress put the dish of beef carpaccio in front of me. That's how much I wanted to eat it. Of course, the first thing hubby did was to grab a piece and ate it in front of me. Too bad, we didn't have a chance to tell papa Adriano that I am pregnant. He was too busy with his friends. Though, we had the chance to tell Mama Emiko! She told me she has mixed feeling because she's going to become a grandmother, a young grandmother. I understand how that feels... I am going to be a mom.. and my grandma on the other hand, a GREAT GRANDMOTHER! How crazy is that! A very young great grandmother I'd say. Anyway, I am currently making carrot green radish corn pork bone soup (cheng hung lor bak tong) yums.. I can't wait till my doctors appointment next Tuesday. I get to see my baby again. =)!

Hey guys! Went to see the doctor yesterday with my mom, gma and hubby. Did a little ultrasound and baby is growing healthy! We could already see his/her little hands, feet! It was such a great feeling to know that he/she is growing so well and healthy! The doc moved my tummy and we could see baby moving! It was soooo magical! I can't believe there's a little person in my tummy. The due date is Oct 11 this year. Of course, it only depends on the CVS test, which is to test during pregnancy whether the baby has any disorder. Like I said before, hubby and I both have the same kind of anemia, so 1/4 chance the baby cannot be born. Now, we have to wait I go to Aussie for the test and wait for a week for the result. We are all hoping that he/she will be fine. Anyway, back to the ultrasound, the baby was sooo adorable! The only regret I have is that I totally forgot to take picture and video!! I can't believe it. I reminded myself so many times before going inside the room but I guess I was too excited when I saw the bb. I guess next time! I'll definitely remember.
Lately, I have been feeling a lot better. However, appetite isn't as great as before. I couldn't eat much. A bit of rice and veggie already made me full. Nausea and dizziness happens sometimes but not often, which I am glad. I do still very tired all the time though, makes me unfit to work at this moment. My tummy felt like a little bolognese sauce today, so I decided to make a shepard's pie but using bolognese sauce instead. It turned out okay, since it was my first time. I will definitely improve next time.

So I am finally back to work. I was feeling nausea this morning and my stomach wasn't feeling too well but I went to work anyway. Since the hotel is in such a tight schedule, I don't want to miss the weekly progress meeting. I want to know exactly the progress and see what I can do to make sure it will open in August (little decisions that might need to make). To be honest, I am quite worried because a lot of things are not decided yet. Of course, I cannot make most of the decisions because it's linked to an amount but whatever I can make the process faster, I will try.
Energy level is back to almost normal. Still feel a little bit tired once in awhile even though I wake up at 7 something in the morning everyday. I find it weird because no matter how late I slept the day before, I still wake up at 7 in the morning. I guess I will have to sleep and wake up early from now on. That makes me feel old because old people wake up early and sleep early.. -.- and now, my back is sore when I sit for too long. I am turning into a old grandmother now =\. Appetite isn't as good as before. I can only eat very little and get full super easily. 3 small chicken sausages would get me full. /.\ I guess I can now save some money for milk powder and diapers.

I arrived in Sydney for medical check up since last Sunday. We all had blood test on Monday morning and was sent to the lab already. Today, I went to the Sydney Ultrasound for Woman for an ultrasound, genetic consultation, NIFTY test and CVS test. We were there for at least 3 hours or so. The first thing my hubby and I did was to have our blood taken to the lab to see for possible down syndrome, PAU and Edwards syndrome. It took the lab about an hour to tell us the result, which everything turned out great! Before we knew the blood test result, we went in for an ultrasound to have a full body check for the baby. He already has his ears, noses, eyes, legs and hands formed and he was very active. I said "he" because I feel like this baby is going to be a boy. Our doctor in Sydney and my mom both said that the baby looks like a boy, though we are unable to know the gender until we get the CVS result.
Here's a picture of our baby! He was very active while I was doing the ultrasound. He even flipped upside down! So the sonographer said that the baby looks fantastic, everything looks great. He's a strong and healthy baby, which I am very very glad to hear. So, then we went in the genetic consultation room and she did my pressure and it looks great. She explained a little bit about the CVS and I was ready for the test. Somebody might already question what CVS test is. CVS, Chorionic villus sampling, is a prenatal test that detects any chromosonal abnormalities of the baby such as down syndrome and all that and there's 0.5% chance of miscarriage. You now probably ask why I do that if it has the chance of miscarriage. Well, my hubby and I were both a carrier of beta thalassemia and which theress 1/4 chance that the baby will have both of our genes. This of course, is not a good result and it will be very hard on the mom and the baby. So, we decided to do that just to make sure the baby does not have both of our genes. Of course, the ultrasound will not be able to tell us whether the baby has or not. Even though the doctor said the baby looks great, strong and healthy. They are unable to check whether they have any genetic diseases.
The procedure of the CVS is actually pretty quick. The doctor will poke the needle on my tummy and take some of the placenta for the lab to analysis our first priority: beta thalassemia and the remaining placenta will be tested for the 250 other genetic disorders. The doctor used the ultrasound as a guidance to see where he takes the placenta from so the needle doesn't hurt the baby. The procedure, I would say, is around 5 minute from beginning to end. To be honest, when he poked the needle inside the placenta, it does sting a little. He said that my stomach will have a little bruise. Some woman has back pain, some has cramp. It all depends on the person. He also said that if there's something wrong with the baby, I will know in 3 days (maybe bad cramps I suppose?) Now that this is done, I just can't wait for the result to come back. In my heart, I know this baby will be fine but of course it is always better to have the report in front of you telling you that your baby is 100% normal. What I can do now is wait for 2 weeks. Finger cross for this baby to be fine!

Hi guys! I am back at work. Though I still have a little morning sickness and sometimes nausea and not feeling too well, I still managed to work half day, either morning or afternoon. The CVS test result is finally out! It's earlier than expected. My mom called me 5 minutes again, saying that mini adrian is fine. He is only a carrier like his daddy and mommy. I am glad. Oh yeah, when I said mini adrian, I meant mini adrian :P The test could also test us whether the bb is a boy or a girl. Surprise suprise, bb is a boy. Like I said, I knew he's going to be a boy! Now that everything is settled. I am relieved! I knew he's going to be a strong baby like his parent. My next appointment in Hong Kong would be on the 25th this month. Maybe I will then post another picture of mini adrian here. Love you all!
