Skin Inc. - first impression

Okay so in my previous blog, I talked about a Sephora haul. Other than the Creme Simon skin care stuff I got, I also got the Skin Inc hydrate custom blended serum and the hydrating mask. (In the picture, there's also an it cosmetic cc cream and benefit real eyeliner. Those are small samples I got while lining up to pay for my things.)

So, the back of the box shows you exactly what each of the serum does and explains a little bit of their patented encapsulation technology from Japan. Those little beads in the serum basically is like pure ingredients and when you apply the serum on your face, they pop and release the active ingredients only when you apply the product.

Before I go on any further, let me explain a little bit what Skin Inc is. Skin Inc is "the world's first supplement bar offering customizable beauty solutions to help you create an effective and fuss-free regimen, designed for your skin. Their products feature highly concentrated, pure and active serums and innovative skincare from Japan that combine proven ingredients with the most advanced delivery systems for maximum results. Skin Inc products contains 0% added scents and parabens."

One of the things that caught my attention is their skin identity counselling. They have this test to customize the most effective solution to address your skin's needs. They "do not believe in stereotyping skin into oily, dry or combination." I think that this is actually a thoughtful thought because not everyone has oily skin, combo skin and dry skin.

I think the first time I noticed this brand was on the Sephora website. I wanted to try it because of how they put 3 serums together in one bottle. Usually, serum is fixed and you just buy it from the counter. However, this is different! I was able to choose from 9 of their serums, mix and match it myself. It sounds really fun and interesting. I was going to purchase it from the sephora website but since I was going to Sydney, I could get it from the Sephora Sydney instead! They didn't have the whole collection in Sydney. So, I only got 2 items.

So after I combined the 3 different serums in the "my daily dose" bottle, I dropped one drop on my hand to try out. The serum is really watery and absorbed into my skin really quickly. It does not have any smell at all. It just doesn't smell like anything. I think that's quite interesting too because when companies say they don't add any fragrance, there's usually some kind of smell to the product. However, this is not the same case. The serum literally doesn't smell like anything. NOTHING! I was surprised. I'm not sure if you can see the difference from my left and right hand but after the serum absorbed into my skin, my skin felt smooth and soft. It's not sticky, which is really good. I don't like serum that's sticky after they absorb into your skin.

The second product I got is the deepsea hydrating mask. This mask is a triple-treat mask. It contains Okinawa deepsea water, soya bean extracts, hyaluronic acid to hydrate your skin. The first thing I thought of when I opened the top was that it looked like ePure jelly mask. Of course, ePure mask has more functions.

My left hand definitely looked more hydrated and less wrinkle-y!

This is the before and after picture. I left the mask on my face for 30 minutes and then rinsed it off. The pictures don't really show much but I can definitely see the redness went down a little. I remembered I still have a little eczema on my left cheek and the dry spot went away after I rinsed off the mask!!! I was super thrilled!

Because I liked the serum and the mask after my first use, I went online and purchase their revival peel, the hydrating gel (you know how I love gel moisturizer :P), snow white mask and the optimizer. The optimizer will probably be my third device for my skin. It says to calm my redness, help with acne and wrinkles. Let see let see...
